Part #: 171

Steyr Mannlicher model 1956 bolt action rifle chambered in .30-06 Springfield. Coming to us from an estate, grandfather handed this rifle down to his grandson. Grandfather hunted with it, but kept it in super condition. Features full length checkered walnut stock with high rise Monte Carlo cheek rest, double set trigger, rotary magazine, and open sights. Condition is excellent with only light hunting marks on the stock and some light finish speckling on the bottom of the magazine plate. The polished blue finish on the barrel is still bright. Bore is bright and shiny with great rifling. Action cycles smoothly and set trigger is very light. Roll mark on the top of the frame reads: Made in Austria, Original Mannlicher Schonauer, Model 1956, Kal 30-06". Stamped 56, so presume that is the year of manufacture. Comes with two interchangeable Bausch & Lomb scopes: 2.5-8x40mm Balvar 8A with fine duplex reticle and 2.5-4x20mm Balvar 4with super fine reticle- both manufactured in Rochester NY. They snap on the Kuharsky Bros (Erie PA) mount with ease. Grandson says they maintain their zero after being switched, and claims excellent accuracy out to 200 yards. The rotary magazine detaches with the push of a button and twist of the base plate. C&R eligible. Super find!
